Hey there everyone :). So this post I want to talk about skincare and how important it is. I work at a place where makeup kind of runs the place. Whenever anyone comes in, most times they are looking for something dealing with make up. While I dont have a problem with that at all, because I too have an unhealthy obsession with make up, sometimes make up isnt the direction you should be going in. For example, some women may come in and say something to the effect of "my skin has dark spots from acne, what kind of concealer should I use" or "my skin is really dry and can be kind of flaky, I need a full coverage foundation". When I run into these kind of situations, I let her know that I will help her find what she needs but I then ask her what kind of skin care products does she use, because her issuse sound more skin care related than cosmetic related. Now depending on the answer to that question, it usually tells me whether or not she takes skin care seriously or think its important.
When it comes to skin care, I believe that it is something that should be taken seriously. And one of the main reasons why we should take it seriously (other than the over all health of your skin) is because your make up is only going to look as good as the skin under it. Instead of using lots of concealer to hide the dark circles under your eye, try an eye cream to get rid of the circles and just a little concealer to brighten the area. Or instead of hiding flaky skin under lots of foundation, try exfoliating a few times a week and watch how nicely your foundation will lay and how much less you will use. Think of skin care and make up like Peanut Butter and Jelly -you cant have one without the other.
Now the skin care process is going to be different for everyone because everyone has differnt types of skin. You have people with dry skin, oily skin (me!), combination skin, sensative skin, high pigmintation, etc.. With all of these different skin types, there are going to be all different kinds of products and it can get overwhelming if your not sure where to start. In situations like this I recommend starting your process at a place where you can ask questions to experts. You can go to a place like sephora, ulta, beauty counters in department stores, skin care stores, the doctors, and even other blogs and youtube. There are plenty of people that are out there that will help you find what you need. Just remember that a full skin care regiment process is clease, tone, treat, and moisturize. Now what that means for you in particulare is what you will find out when you talk to an expert
So this all was just the bare surface of skin care, I just wanted to give you a little taste of what it is. Good skin care is a huge passion of mine and its something I always try to pass on any kind of knowledge that I have on it. Because anyone and everyone can have beautiful skin, we just have to put the work into it. :)
